Parts Library

Upload a CSV of your standard parts — strips, master coils, and slit coils — to create a reusable reference library. Browse and filter parts, then load them directly into any optimizer job.

Overview

The Parts Library is a persistent catalog of your standard parts. Instead of typing widths and item numbers every time, you upload them once and reference them from any job. The library is saved to your account, so it follows you across browsers and devices whenever you sign in.

Three part types are supported:

Strip Master Coil Slit Coil

Each type appears with its own color badge and can be filtered separately.

CSV Format

The Parts Library accepts a CSV with four columns:

item_number, type, width, length
ColumnDescription
item_numberYour part identifier — SKU, part number, or any unique label.
typeOne of: strip, master_coil, or slit_coil.
widthPart width in your selected unit. Required for all types.
lengthPart length. required for strip type only.

Example CSV

item_number,type,width,length P-100,strip,3.5,120 P-101,strip,6.0,96 P-102,strip,4.25,144 MC-001,master_coil,49.2, SC-010,slit_coil,3.5,
The header row is required.

Uploading Parts

1
Navigate to Parts Library
Click Parts Library in the left sidebar under the Library group.
2
Drop or browse your CSV
Drag a CSV file onto the upload zone, or click browse to open a file picker.
3
Library loads instantly
Parts appear immediately in the table on the right panel, sorted by item number. The count in the header updates to reflect the total number of parts loaded.
Uploading a new CSV replaces the entire library. To add parts without losing existing ones, merge your data into one CSV file before uploading.

Browsing & Filtering

Use the filter buttons above the parts table to show only certain types:

All Strips Master Coils Slit Coils

The table shows item number, type, width, and length for each part. Clicking a column header sorts the table by that column.

Using Parts in Jobs

Parts in the library can be loaded directly into optimizer jobs. In the Parts Library results table, each row has an Actions column. Click the action button to load that part's dimensions into the active optimizer field.

Workflow tip: Open the Coil Slitting optimizer in a tab, then switch to Parts Library and load master coil and slit widths with one click each — no copy-paste needed.

Managing the Library

Two management buttons are available in the left panel:

Tips & Best Practices

Export from your ERP or item master
Most ERP systems have a parts/item master export. Map the columns to the required format and you can load your entire catalog in one upload.
Keep a master CSV backed up
The library is stored on our servers and tied to your account, so signing in from a different browser or computer brings your parts with you. Keeping the source CSV file somewhere safe is still a good habit for offline backup.
Use the Export CSV button to update your catalog
Export, edit in a spreadsheet to add or remove parts, then re-upload the updated file.
