Templates & Run History

Save any optimization as a reusable template to reload it in seconds. Every successful run is automatically logged in Run History, where you can review results and re-download PDF reports at any time.

Overview

CutFlow has two related but separate storage systems for your work:

Templates
  • Manually saved by you
  • Stores inputs (parameters), not results
  • Intended for repeat jobs
  • Access via Templates in sidebar
  • Filter by job type (Coil / Sheet / CTL)
Run History
  • Saved automatically after every successful run
  • Stores inputs AND results
  • Full audit trail of all optimizations
  • Access via History in sidebar
  • PDF report available per run

Templates

Templates are named snapshots of your optimizer inputs. They let you set up a recurring job once and reload it instantly in the future β€” no need to re-enter all the parameters.

Each optimizer (Coil Slitting, Nesting, Cut to Length) has its own save bar at the top of the input panel with a template name field and a Save Template button.

Saving a Template

1
Configure your job
Set all the parameters you want to save β€” master coil width, slit widths, quantities, cost settings, etc.
2
Enter a template name
Type a recognizable name into the Template name… field at the top of the input panel. Example: "Customer A – Weekly Run" or "Standard 48in Coil".
3
Click Save Template
The template is saved and immediately appears in the Templates section of the sidebar under the job's type badge (Coil, Sheet, or CTL).
You don't need to run Optimize before saving a template. Save at any point β€” even if you haven't clicked Optimize yet.

Loading a Template

1
Open Templates
Click Templates in the left sidebar under the Jobs group.
2
Filter by job type (optional)
Use the filter buttons (All / Coil / Sheet / CTL) to narrow the list.
3
Select a template
Click on a template name in the list. The detail panel on the right shows the template's saved parameters.
4
Click Load Job
Press Load Job. CutFlow switches to the appropriate optimizer tab and pre-fills all parameters from the template. Click Optimize to run it.
Loading a template overwrites any unsaved inputs in the current optimizer tab. Save your current work as a template first if needed.

Run History

Every time you click Optimize and get a successful result, CutFlow automatically saves that run to history. No action needed β€” it happens in the background.

To access history, click History in the left sidebar under the Jobs group.

What's in a history entry

ItemDescription
Job nameThe job name you entered (or a default label if left blank).
Date/timeWhen the run was executed.
Type badgeCoil, Sheet, or CTL β€” so you can tell at a glance.
KPI summaryKey metrics for the run (efficiency, scrap, master coils, etc.).
Full parametersAll inputs used for the run β€” viewable in the detail panel.

PDF from History

Each history entry has a ⬇ PDF Report button in the detail panel. Click it to regenerate the full PDF for that run β€” the same PDF you would get by running the optimizer fresh, but from stored data.

Practical use: A customer asks for a copy of a cutting plan from last month. Instead of re-entering the job, open History, find the run by date and name, and click PDF Report.

Deleting history entries

Select an entry and click Delete to remove it permanently. To clear all history at once, use the Delete all history button at the bottom of the history list.

Deleted history cannot be recovered. If you need to keep a record, export the PDF before deleting.

Tips & Best Practices

β˜…
Name your jobs consistently
Use a consistent naming convention (e.g., "Customer – Date" or "Order #12345") so runs are easy to find in history and PDFs are clearly labeled.
β˜…
Save templates before modifying
If you need to make a one-off change to a recurring job, save the modified version under a different template name rather than overwriting the original.
β˜…
Templates and history follow your account
Templates and history are stored on our servers under your account, so they're available from any browser or device you sign in to. Clearing browser data won't erase them. Exporting important PDFs as files is still a good habit for offline records.
